Born in Kroonstad, South Africa, the soprano Mercy Malieloa has finished her master’s degree at the Cologne University of Music in the classes of Prof. Brigitte Lindner and Prof. Josef Protschka. She completed her bachelor’s degree in "Music and Society" (2014) at North-West University's School of Music and Conservatory Potchefstroom Campus in South Africa. In 2015 she was a member of the Opera Studio in Cape Town. Mercy Malieloa has won numerous awards, including first prize at the ATKV-Muziqanto National Classical Vocal Competition in 2016, the most prestigious vocal competition in South Africa. She was a finalist at the Opera Crown Tbilisi International Voice Competition in Georgia in 2018. In August 2019 she won the SAMRO Overseas Scholarships Competition and received a scholarship from the National Opera Association of South Africa. Mercy Malieloa made her German debut as a soloist in Joseph Haydn's Missa in Angustiis under the musical direction of Gerald Wirth at the Rheingau Music Festival in 2019. In the season 2020/21 she became a member of the Opernstudio NRW.
