Yuna Kudo studied musicology at the Tokyo University of the Arts and began working in opera during her studies as an organiser, translator and pianist. In 2012, she moved to Italy and has since been active internationally as a répétiteur. She earned her Master’s degree in piano accompaniment with distinction from the Conservatorio “Arrigo Boito” in Parma.

She continued her training at the Accademia Teatro alla Scala, where she subsequently worked as a coach from 2017 to 2019. She also gained further artistic experience at the Accademia di Belcanto Mirella Freni, the Vocal Residency of the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, and through an exchange programme between La Scala and the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow.

Her engagements have included the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari, AsLiCo – Teatro Sociale di Como, the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi di Como, the Teatro Lirico Sperimentale di Spoleto, and the Tiroler Festspiele Erl, where she has been a regular guest since 2015.

In 2019, she moved to Germany as a member of the Opernstudio NRW. After positions at Musiktheater im Revier Gelsenkirchen and Oper Frankfurt, she was appointed Artistic Director of the Opernstudio NRW for the 2023/24 season and, since February 2025, has additionally served as Acting Head of the Artistic Administration Office. In the summer of 2025, she worked as musical assistant to Simone Young for Der Ring des Nibelungen at the Bayreuth Festival.
