Born in 1992, the light lyrical Dutch soprano Wendy Krikken started her musical career at the age of seven as a member of her city's Young Theatre School, where she gathered much experience in the realms of musical, theatre and opera. In 2009, she won the Encouragement Prize at the “Prinses Christina Concours”. In 2013, she was a semifinalist at the “Concours Kasteel Doorwerth”. She completed her Bachelor’s degree with the main subject singing with honors at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague in 2015, followed by a year at the Dutch National Opera Academy in Amsterdam. There, she made her debut on the opera stage in the role of Zerlina ("Don Giovanni").
In 2018, she completed her Master studies (Opera and Musical Theater) with conductor Prof. Kai Röhrig, director Prof. Karoline Gruber and singing teacher Prof. Ildikó Raimondi at the Mozarteum Salzburg with honors and participated in the post graduate course “Opera and Musical Theater”. In addition, she attended masterclasses with Felicity Lott, Anne Murray and others. In Salzburg, she was very successful in the roles of Susanna ("Le nozze di Figaro"), Helena ("A Midsummer Night’s Dream") and Kaiserin in the world premiere of Oscar Jockel's "Lob des Schattens".
Besides a journey to Hangzhou in China (as Susanna), Wendy Krikken took part in several concerts all over Europe.
