Atsuko Ota

Pianist

Atsuko Ota was born in Chiba, Japan, near Tokyo. At the age of five she discovered her passion for the piano. She studied at the Musashino Music Academy in Tokyo with Prof. Etsuko Okazaki. Due to her outstanding performance she was granted two scholarships and finished her studies with full marks. In October 2016 she started to study Lied interpretation in Cologne with Prof. Ulrich Eisenlohr. Since October 2019 she has also been studying opera accompaniment with Prof. Stephan E. Wehr. The lessons in piano with Prof. Arnulf von Arnim, Prof. John Damgaard, Prof. Ferenc Bogner and Martin Helmchen as well as in Lied interpretation with Prof. Stefan Irmer and Yukari Koyasu and chamber music with Prof. Anthony Spiri and Jyunji Mitsuishi helped her to train and develop her artistic personality.

During her career as a piano accompanist she performed successfully at numerous concerts and competitions. Since April 2019 she was engaged as a choir répétiteur at the Theater Aachen. Starting season 2021/22 Atsuko Ota is part of the Opernstudio NRW.
