The baritone Oleh Lebedyev, born in 1995 in Lviv (Ukraine), started his studies there in 2011 at the State Music College “Stanislav Liudkevych“ – first in the faculty of conducting. Within the International Music Competition “Dmytro Bortniansky” which was held in Kyiv, he won a 2nd prize. In 2015 he was accepted to the Petro Tchaikovsky National Music Academy in Kyiv where he got his diploma with honors in Music and Opera Singing in 2017.  Subsequently, he frequently participated in masterclasses at the Academia Operowa, a promotion programme for young artists at the Grand Opera House in Warsaw. In 2018, he won a 1st prize at the “Halina Slonicka” International Vocal Competition in Suwalki (Poland). For the seasons 2019/20 and 2020/21, he became a part of the „Centre Perfeccionament Placido Domingo“ at the „Palau de Les Arts Reina Sofía“ which belongs tot he opera house in Valencia (Spain). In 2021, he reached the semifinal of the Concurso Viñas singing competition in Barcelona. Oleh Lebedyev attended masterclasses with singers such as Placido Domingo, Carlo Rizzi, Roger Vignoles, Olga Pasiecznik and Carlos Chausson.

September 2021 he won a special prize from the Teatro Real in Madrid in the final of the 20th Ottavio Ziino International Singing Competition in Rome, Italy. Since the 2021/22 season Oleh Lebedyev is a member of the Opera Studio NRW.
