Hyejun Kwon

Mezzo-Soprano

Mezzo-soprano Hyejun Kwon, born in Incheon, South Korea, graduated with a bachelor's degree from Ewha womans University under Prof. Eunhee Kim while performing Mozart's "Cosi fan Tutte" as Dorablla. She was also the Alto member in the Ewha Chamber Choir and was the alto soloist in LA Disney Hall during USA tour.
Since 2020, she has been studying her master's degree in voice at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin in the class of Prof. Ewa Wolak. During her vocal studies she participated in various opera class productions, including performances of Handel's "Alcina" as Ruggiero, in Ana Sokolović's "Svadba" as Liubica and she had the opera gala concert at Konzerthaus Berlin
as Suzuki from "Madama Butterfly". She participated in master classes with Brigitte Fassbaender, Christin Anderson, among others. And she won among others the first prize in the International Competition Nouvelles Etoiles in 2021, the second prize in the MAP International Music Competition, as well as the first prize of voice in the International Music
Competition Premio Citta' di Padova and the first prize in the King's Peak International Music Competition in 2022. Hyejun Kwon has been a member of the Opera Studio NRW since the 2022/23 season.
